Public Arts, 400 level special topics interdisciplinary course

Public Art explored the different aspects and outcomes of art in the community. Investigations and research were conducted as the students met and interview ed local and international artists that make a living creating public commissioned works as well as other professionals in the field that foster this career. The students will took the information from their research and created and experienced the process of proposing and creating public works of art in a team environment from initial research and idea building to fabrication and installation.  The students proposed billboards, created and abandoned non-damaging graffiti artwork, proposed public art for UAB, and installed/exhibited an Enterprise truck installation that was parked outside of a local gallery during one of their exhibition openings.
