I wanted to create a community-based project that translates the sense of camaraderie and fellowship that comes with the process of traditional iron casting. You need multiple participants to complete the many different tasks that are involved with the process and, most of all, you need to trust each other to keep each other safe. I bring this piece with me for every iron pour I participate in. These are images from Sloss Metal Arts in Birmingham, AL; the Memphis Metals Museum's F.I.R.E. Conference in TN; the 2018 International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art in Scranton, PA; and Herron School of Art & Design in Indianapolis, IN.
